Job Title: General Administrator - Produce Industry

Location: Davis, CA
Pay Rate: $23-$26 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Shift: 8-hour shifts with start time between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced General Administrator with a background in the produce industry to support daily administrative operations in a fast-paced fresh produce environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple administrative functions independently while supporting operations, sales, and logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily administrative operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across departments
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming calls, emails, and internal inquiries
  • Prepare, process, and maintain documentation including invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading, freight paperwork, and delivery records
  • Assist with order processing, data entry, and reconciliation of produce transactions
  • Coordinate with sales, warehouse, and transportation teams to support daily produce movement
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems
  • Track and follow up on paperwork related to food safety, compliance, audits, and regulatory requirements
  • Support scheduling, reporting, and internal communication as needed
  • Identify administrative process improvements and assist with implementation
  • Perform additional administrative and operational support duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in the produce or fresh food industry is required
  • Strong understanding of produce operations, timelines, and documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work under time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and general office systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with produce inventory, ERP, or logistics software
  • Knowledge of food safety documentation and compliance processes

Work Environment

  • Office-based position supporting produce operations
  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven atmosphere aligned with produce shipping schedules
  • Early start required to support daily operational needs
